Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact Forms
If you contact us directly via email or through a contact form, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Faithful Plot uses “cookies” to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
Web Analytics
We utilize the Independent Analytics WordPress plugin to measure website traffic, identify our most popular articles, and understand general visitor behavior. Because this plugin runs entirely on our own local server, no data is shared with third-party tracking companies or external servers. This analytics data is used solely to improve our content and provide a better reading experience.
Please note that we may also implement Google Analytics in the future to further evaluate site performance. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information in an anonymous form.
3. Third-Party Advertising and Affiliate Partners
Faithful Plot is a commercial blog that monetizes content through affiliate advertising.
Amazon Associates Disclosure
Faithful Plot is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
When you click on an Amazon affiliate link on our site, a tracking cookie is placed in your browser to properly attribute any resulting sales commission to us. Amazon’s privacy policy governs the data they collect during your checkout process.
Future Advertising (Google AdSense)
We do not currently serve automated display ads, but we intend to add Google AdSense in the future. Once active, Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site based on a user’s prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

5. Data Retention
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
Faithful Plot does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
